Thanks Philip, I pray this will be useful to the Lord and His church... The discipline of trying to write a hymn every day (or at least several per week) no doubt produces a lot of mediocre hymn texts, but it does help me in developing the craft. I think this is probably one of my best. The sermon series it accompanies is a 6-week series, and they wanted a verse for each Sunday, tied to the Scripture and theme for that day. It was an interesting "Rubik's cube", and I think these specific requirements made it a better hymn.
