New Hymnbook Coming Soon

For a number of months now,
my early morning hours have been taken up
with the writing of hymns and songs.
I have more than 100 of these.
Now it’s time to get them written out in good notation
            and distributed.

So I’m making a brief change in my morning routine
to gather the music into a hymnbook.
This will be a simple three-ring binder
of 50 to 100 hymns and songs.
It may take several weeks,
and I’ll try to keep you updated
                        on the process here.

When completed,
the hymnbook will be available to you at no cost.
Thanks for your interest!

  1. Gary,
This is a very significant achievement, and I am in awe at the self-discipline and creative talent you have offered in Service. But you are entitled to feel a sense of pleasure in the achievement.

  2. Thanks Philip, I appreciate that. And I need to feel a sense of pleasure. I have written about 250 hymns and songs, and part of the goal is that, by producng many, a few may find a place of usefulness. Isaac Watts wrote about 750, and Charles Wesley at least 5000. Sometimes I feel driven or obsessed in this, and that's not good, I think...

  3. Hi Gary,
I've been in Mexico for a few weeks and trying to catch up on the blogs. Flew over Nova Scotia on the way there and back, but couldn't see much from up there!
Hope all is well, as your blog has been quiet for a while.

  4. Were you on vacation in Mexico? We've been to Tijuana and northern Baja California in 2006.
I hope to get back on track with the blog. My New Hymns blog is a higher priority at this point, and December is extremely busy, but I want to continue with HicksPosts as well...
